With almost a month of beer gardens under the belt, the roadmap to normality continues to lift spirits and raise hopes for an incredible summer ahead. Despite a few questionable spots of weather in recent days, that student desire to get out and socialise has never been stronger, and that need grows more with the re-opening of indoor hospitality closing in. With that in mind, it’s time for the latest instalment of our ‘Igloo suggests…‘ series, bringing you a few of our favourite restaurants of differing cuisines to try out from May 17th!

Urban Choola – Cuisine: Indian / Price: ££ / Our Rating: 8/10
Sitting on Ecclesall Road South, just up from Endcliffe Park, Urban Choola is the epitome of a good Indian. Boasting a tasty menu that brings authentic favourites with a contemporary twist, Urban Choola is an ideal place to dodge the Ecclesall Road chaos whilst not going too far. The price is not extortionate, but represents the quality of food on offer, as well as the pleasant and often quick service. Urban Choola is a great option for a classy Indian meal without breaking the bank; to see more, and to book a table, go via their website: https://www.urbanchoola.com/
All Siam Thai – Cuisine: Thai / Price: £££ / Our Rating: 9/10
Whilst this menu does come with a slightly higher price tag than the typical student budget, you can guarantee it will be a meal to remember. All Siam is located on Ecclesall Road just before the Hunters Bar roundabout, and delivers a vast Thai selection for all to enjoy. With an array of traditional starters, chef specials, and classic Thai dishes, All Siam provides food for both the experienced Thai eaters and cuisine newbies. Supported by a fantastic cocktail and drinks selection, All Siam is certainly one of, if not the best Thai restaurant in Sheffield; for more information, and to book in today for their outside seating, head to: https://allsiamsheffield.co.uk/
Otto’s Restaurant – Cuisine: Mediterranean/Moroccan / Price: £££ / Our Rating: 8/10
Perched on the delightful Sharrow Vale Road – running parallel behind Ecclesall Road – is Otto’s, a traditional Moroccan-style restaurant. A truly underrated cuisine, the food of the Mediterranean is diverse, authentic, and filling, with Otto’s ranking up there with Sheffield’s very best. Providing a hugely enjoyable menu with various starters and deserts to accompany a cracking selection of main meals, Otto’s simply suits anyone and everyone. A vegan menu is also available, plus a great choice of drinks with a particularly wide pick of gin’s; to check out Otto’s, visit their website right here: https://ottosrestaurant.co.uk/
